Dr. Karena Wu is owner and Clinical Director of ActiveCare Physical Therapy Pvt Ltd. She is a native of Los Angeles, California and has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California at Riverside. She has been practicing physical therapy for 19 years in New York City. She graduated from the Program In Physical Therapy at Columbia University with a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University. She received her Certificate in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). She is a Fellow in Training at MAPS and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.

Dr. Wu has advanced training in manual therapies, specifically in the Maitland Australian Approach and Myofascial Release. Karena is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Kinesiology Tape Practitioner and Pilates Instructor. She is also LSVT BIG, FMS and SFMA Level 1 Certified.

Karena is a dedicated practitioner who takes a holistic approach to her practice. She has embodied a practice philosophy that thinks outside of the box, is holistic and demands attention to detail. She actively networks with a team of physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists and massage therapists. Her patient population consists of professional athletes, dancers, celebrity chefs, Broadway, TV and movie stars, international royalty, high end business professionals, and NYPD/FDNY.

Karena is used as a healthcare expert on CBS, NBC, NY1, PIX11, Fios, Fox News and Dr. Oz. She is on the Medical Board of the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP).

 


Dr. Kinjal Shah

Dr. Kinjal Shah Anandpara is owner and Clinical Director of ActiveCare Physical Therapy Pvt Ltd. Dr. Anandpara was born and raised in south Mumbai. She has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy in Pune. She moved to California to continue her education and received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University School of Allied Health. Dr. Anandpara also received a Certificate of Orthopedic Manual Therapy from Curtain University in Perth, Australia. She has over 11 years of clinical experience in India and America.

Dr. Anandpara has worked and trained in New York City at the original ActiveCare Physical Therapy. She learned the best physical therapy techniques and assessments of ActiveCare PT in addition to Pilates for rehabilitation. She has advanced training in the Maitland Australian Approach, the McKenzie Method and Mulligan’s Mobilization with Movement techniques. She has taken additional courses in kinesiology taping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, myofascial decompression (cupping) and ergonomics.

Dr. Anandpara has returned to her home in India to help open the first ActiveCare PT location in Mumbai. She looks forward to demonstrating the best physical therapy practices that aid in pain relief, edema control and neuromuscular activation.

Dr. Anandpara is licensed in New York and India. She is a member of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists.


Dr. Sanjana Ghelani

Dr. Sanjana Ghelani PT, BPT | Physical Therapy IndiaDr. Sanjana Ghelani was born and raised in in the city of Dubai, an emirate of the United Arab Emirates. She completed her Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy in 2018 from Gulf Medical University in Ajman, UAE, which has received the ‘Best Medical Education University’ by Forbes Middle East Higher Education Awards 2019. Sanjana graduated with a Certificate of Honours for outstanding academic achievement and was ranked within the top 4 of her batch.

Dr. Ghelani contributed to a case report on ‘The Role of Physiotherapy on post- operative complications in a Bankart Lesion Surgery Patient’ during her bachelors course. She interned in various settings: Thumbay Hospital (Ajman, U.A.E.), Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs (Dubai, U.A.E.) and Nanavati Hospital (Mumbai, India). Sanjana is also certified in Kinesiotaping.

Sanjana’s hobbies include reading, writing, travelling and listening to music. She has volunteered at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019 and worked with Special Needs Athletes to assess fitness-to-play.

Dr. Ghelani is looking forward to enhancing and refining her manual therapy skills and clinical knowledge at ActiveCare Physical Therapy. She is fluent in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
