At ActiveCare Physical Therapy, care is built
around you — your body, your goals, and how
you respond to treatment.
Whether you plan to use insurance, pay directly
for care, or are looking for one of our specialty
services, we want the financial side of your
experience to feel clear from the beginning.
Self-pay physical therapy with ActiveCare staff
ranges from $185–$385, depending on visit type
and clinician.
Your First Visit · 60 Minutes
Initial Physical Therapy Evaluation
Your first visit is designed to give us time
to understand the full picture — not just
where it hurts.
Your physical therapist will review your symptoms,
history, lifestyle, activities and goals; assess
how your body is moving; and look at the areas
that may be contributing to the problem.
From there, we'll explain what we find and
create a personalized plan for moving forward.
When appropriate, treatment may begin
during your first visit.

Not sure who to schedule with?
Our team can help match you with the clinician
who best fits your condition, goals, preferences,
and scheduling needs.
ActiveCare works with many major insurance plans.
Because every policy is different, your out-of-pocket
cost may depend on factors including your network
benefits, deductible, copay or coinsurance,
visit limits and authorization requirements.
Before your first appointment, our team can review
your insurance information, verify available
physical therapy benefits and help you understand
your expected patient responsibility.
Insurance benefit verification is based on
information provided by your insurance carrier
and is not a guarantee of payment or coverage.
Follow-up visits may include hands-on treatment,
movement reassessment, corrective exercise,
core retraining, Pilates-based rehabilitation,
strength and stability work, and individualized
education based on your progress and clinical needs.
We treat, reassess, and pay attention to what
actually changes — so your plan can continue
to move forward with you.
Using insurance?
Your patient responsibility for follow-up visits
will depend on your individual benefits.

Before care begins, we review your expected
financial responsibility and document the
financial arrangement with you in writing.

Not Sure Where to Start?
Start with an evaluation.
If you're dealing with pain, an injury,
recurring symptoms, post-surgical recovery
or a movement problem you want to better
understand, an Initial Physical Therapy
Evaluation is usually the best place to begin.
We'll take the time to understand what is
happening, look beyond the painful area
and recommend the next step based on
what we find.
Why are there different self-pay rates
for initial evaluations?
Staff initial evaluation rates vary based on the
clinician you choose, including experience and
advanced training. Every ActiveCare patient receives
individualized care grounded in the same whole-body
clinical philosophy. For appointments with Dr. Karena Wu,
please call the office for pricing and availability.
Will my insurance cover physical therapy at ActiveCare?
Coverage varies by insurance plan. Your deductible,
network benefits, copay or coinsurance, authorization
requirements and visit limits can all affect your
out-of-pocket cost. Our team can verify your benefits
and review the information with you before your
appointment. If ActiveCare is out of network with
your plan, we also review your expected patient
responsibility and document the financial agreement
with you in writing before care begins.
What is the difference between Desk Relief
and a physical therapy evaluation?
Desk Relief is a focused 45-minute posture and movement
session designed for the physical effects of prolonged
desk work. It also gives you a focused introduction
to the ActiveCare experience and a key part of the
ACTIVECARE Method™: your clinician assesses your
posture and movement, uses focused recommendations
or techniques, and then tests and re-tests to see
how your body responds. It is not a substitute for
a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation or
diagnosis. If you are experiencing an injury,
significant or persistent pain, or a condition
that may require ongoing treatment, a full Initial
Physical Therapy Evaluation may be more appropriate.
Do you offer physical therapy at home?
Yes. Limited private in-home appointments are
available based on clinician availability,
location and scheduling needs. Please call
the office for current availability and pricing.
Can I get an estimate before receiving self-pay care?
Yes. Under the federal No Surprises Act, patients
who are uninsured or choose not to use insurance
are generally entitled to a Good Faith Estimate
of expected charges when care is scheduled at least
3 business days in advance or when an estimate
is requested. We are happy to provide this
information before you begin.
