Bethany Harding

Pilates Instructor-In-Training

Bethany Harding was born and raised in Starkville, Mississippi. She grew up modeling internationally and spent many years traveling abroad. Bethany has chosen New York as her home and has been here for over 10 years. She has managed the well known Ellie Herman Pilates studio in Brooklyn for the last 2 years.

Bethany has always had a love for Pilates and movement. Bethany has done her Pilates training with Ellie Herman. She has completed anatomy and movement workshops with Irene Dowd of Juilliard Dance, Reverend and Doctor of Divinity Fredrick Pearson-Nunez, a Master of Pilates, Rehabilitation, and Eastern Medicine, and Physical Therapist/Master Pilates Trainer Dr. Denise Small. Bethany is currently working towards her Pilates certification and is completing her training hours at ActiveCare Physical Therapy. Her desire to do them here is based on the diversity of clients with post-rehabilitation limitations, relevant medical information incorporated in their Pilates training as well as the well healthy population that can also benefit from this additional training.

Bethany's practice philosophy is grounded in the principles of the Pilates method and the belief that what is most important is not what you do, but how you do it (i.e. precision is everything). Bethany wants to instill in her clients a strong focus on Pilates fundamentals which include: concentration, focus on posture, core musclature and breathing. Her ultimate passion is humanitarian work and she gives her time freely whenever possible. Bethany is kind, caring and patient with a dedication to helping people feel their best and enjoying life to the fullest.
